Advances in molecular and high-throughput biology
are producing an explosion of information and transforming our understanding of biology, medicine, and bioengineering.

Such progress is producing a growing need to quantitatively understand and manipulate this data and translate it into practical applications. Researchers in computational and theoretical biology are using a variety of mathematical approaches to understand and manipulate nature.

This year's symposium on the Evolutionary Design Principles of Biological Networks will present recent results and theoretical methods of statistical mechanics, nonlinear dynamics, and systems biology that are being developed and applied to study the collective properties of biological systems.
